How can I "fix" my SD card?

I have a corrupted SD card from my old phone (samsung s7). I lost probably 98% of the photos of my dog that just died. Does anyone know how or know someone (Chicago area) that knows how to retrieve them? I tried a phone repair center and the SD card kept disconnecting from their reader. I'm willing to try literally anything to get these back.

There is data recovery software out there but I can't personally recommend one. Only advice I can offer is to back up data in the future. Also some people get paid BIG money to save files on destroyed or damaged media, so you could maybe try that if you just have tons of cash. I'm a newb though, so that's all I got. Best of luck!
