Storage Density vs Storage Capacity?

What I know of these two is

Storage Capacity - Maximum amount of data that can stored on a storage medium.

I'm assuming that means the whole shebang. If I have a 800GB HDD the storage capacity is 800GB. Simple.

Storage Density - Amount of data that can be stored in a given area of a storage medium (as defined by the book)

What exactly does that mean? It almost sounds as if it's the same thing as capacity?

Density relates to the density of the medium itself. A HD of the same type but of a greater capacity is more dense than than the other due to the physical size of the disk versus the potential for capacity.
