Why would my new upgraded video card make things darker?

Hi all!

I recently upgraded from a 8600GTS to a ASUS 9600GSO video card.

The 9600GSO had marvelous reviews at the Egg...

I immediately noticed that when I played a simple game like Blackhawk Down, when I go from outdoors to indoors in the game the rooms are so dark I cannot even see the enemy.

Even Microsoft's Chess Game is really dark....everything seems to appear much darker...

Is the card not working correctly or is there some type of adjustment possible [what is a shader anyway]?

Can anyone help me to understand what is causing this and what I might do to rectify this challenge?

Try turning up the brightness? Try an older or newer driver depending on whatever you have currently installed.

Make sure the fan speed is up and the card is seated correctly.
