Any combination from this list of parts, would make a great build.

Here are some choices...

ASUS P5K/Deluxe(Supports Crossfire)

EVGA 680i(Supports SLI)

RAM
2 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800
2 x 1GB Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800

GPU

PSU
Corsair 520HX(Modular)
Corsair 550VX
Rosewill RP550
XCLIO Greatpower 550(Modular)

HDD
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB

...or your choice

..oh...and Thermal Paste
Arctic Cooling MX-2(Preferred and recommended)

NICE!!
will save a lot of hassle with that
you should put some explanations by each one
like "modular" next to some psu's and "best" next to mx-2 and "mid-tower" next to 690 and "full tower" next to ARMOR and "crossfire" next to p5k

and uh with that large of a budget you can make a really kickin gaming machine. lol.

oh btw hi and welcome to forum.

Thanks veedub. Needs a lot of work though. That's in the range of $1000-1500. There should be a low-end and very high-end. And a list for both Intel and AMD too.

I'll make a separate thread on it.
