Yeah, I saw some people on the screensavers talking about this a while back.

Do you know if defense for these are built into many of the current anti-virus programs? I know there are programs specific for it, but it seems like it should be built into normal anti-virus programs...

anti-virus programs generally CANT find a rootkit if its properly done, they usually operate at the kernel level beneath what a virus program can see
