I have a computer with linux(RED HAT) on it. It is an Apache/YaBB server. For some reason I cannot access the Apache/YaBB from other computers. I checked the DHCP client list and found my 2 other computers but the linux box was missing. I did a GFI LanGuard Audit on my whole network and found that my linux box was running on

192.168.1.250

what is wrong??????????

Note: this problem started when I turned the linux box off to restart it.

well, first of all, your box (linux or windows) wont show up in the dhcp client list if it has a static address. secondly, are you on the same subnet as the rest of your computers?

I just checked the subnet on the linux box and found out it was 255.255.248.0, I changed it over to 255 and it works now. Thank you...

I am a noob at networking............

not a problem, thats what it sounded like and am not sure how it changed for ya, but i'm glad to see that it's working now :)
