Internet Explorer not displaying pages

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but its not easy for me to search at the moment.

When i try to connect to a page i get the message;

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

I was getting problems before i installed the latest IE.

If i disconnect, and reconnect it will let me go to one or two sites before i get the message again.

Internet works fine on my networked laptop and i have tried firefox with the same results.

Can somebody point me in the direction of a link, or help me please.

i have noticed is i disconnect then reconnect to the internet the browser will work once or twice, then nothing.

And it wont display and pictures.
