Xbox 360 Getting USB Storage Ugrade?

We covered this earlier in our Gaming [H]eadlines post but, after all the e-mail you guys have sent me about this, I figured it deserved a post of its own. The quick and dirty version of the rumor is that Microsoft will allow USB storage devices (up to 16GB) to be used as storage devices. I haven't heard back from MS on this one yet but I will keep you guys up to date if and when I do.

YES PLEASE! I refuse to buy their 1GB memory sticks for £30.

Though, I'd have to buy a new USB stick since mine's 32GB

Why only 16? Why not larger?

I would like to throw a SSD in a case and hook it up, download all my games to that drive instead of the painfully slow drive that is already there, that can't really be swapped out...

Well the 360 slim is purportedly getting the same hard drive functions as PCs and PS3s, so I would wait for that.
