I recently had to do a reinstall of vista on to my laptop due to serious crashes after windows update. I think I had CCleaner or Eraser Pro on the wrong settings because all my system restore points were deleted and I had only recently downloaded them.

Anyway my problem is that now when Windows loads there is an option to select from 2 Vista OS's, Windows wil automatically load in the fresh install. This isn't a major issue but it is rather annoying, can I get Windows to boot normally as before so that it doesn't recognise Vista was reinstalled.

I have deleted the Windows.old folder which the corrupted OS was filed under.

Use EasyBCD. That will allow you to easily modify the boot files to remove the entry that doesnt need to be there and boot directly to Vista without the boot menu.

Couldnt he have had went into msconfig>boot, selected the one he wants to boot from a delete the other one?

Yes msconfig would have worked as well. I am just so used to using EasyBCD that i forget that method. XD
