So my roommate's computer fell off his desk and landed indirectly on its side (bottom of motherboard side down).

It will power on: all fans spinning, HDD vibrating.
No initial MB beep or anything though.
Monitors show "no input".

I tested his GPU and HDD in my computer, both functioning.

Someone else suggested the MB plate may have warped enough to short somewhere, but wouldn't a short cause it to not turn on at all?

Aside from pulling everything out of the case and reassembling naked to test if it is a short, does anyone have any other things to check or ways to check them? Don't really want to do a full dis/re-assemble of this computer 4 times today getting it in and out of the case.

Reseated RAM, GPU, power/sata connectors for HHD/ODD.

Pushed on 24-pin and 8-pin(?) near the CPU to make sure they were fully inserted, they seemed to be.

So apparently the ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 he is using doesn't even have an integrated speaker for POST beeps.

Time to go hunting for a speaker in my box of misc. computer junk.

*Edit - 3hrs later I'm amazed how hard it is to track down a MB speaker from any local stores.

System speaker installed, no beeps.
Reset CMOS, no beeps.
Tried every angle the speaker can be plugged in, no beeps.

So the rest of my evening will be spent digging his rig out of the case and breadboarding it to test for a case-to-MB short.

If anyone has suggestions I haven't thought of here feel free to chime in.
