Looking into a issue with Vista locking up/freezing from time to time.
It lasts 1-2 min, and nothing will work, not even alt-ctrl-del

I don't think its spyware etc, as I've cleaned it up.
I've run tune up programs (which helped with overall speed and performance).
Some have suggested it had to do with virtual memory etc...

In any case I Don't do games or video's etc.
Just surfing, have 2-3 Firefox browser's running, a Word doc open maybe...
and listening to a mp3....

Which works fine for hours, and then it will randomly hang up, (no error msg)
for 1-2 min, and then back to normal.

Any ideas ?

Here is some system info.

Vista home premium - service pack 2
Intel (R) CPU 2160 @1.8 Ghz 1.8 ghz
Memory 3.0 GB
32 bit

Do your system / event logs show anything at the time of freezing?

You've run all malware / virus programs in safemode, updated and they came back negative? (malwarebytes, av program)

Check your temperatures too.

Start > type "Event Viewer" > Windows logs > System

Scroll down in there and look to see if there's some problem reported around the time of your freezes going on.
