Ok so here is what I want to be able to do, let me know if it can be done.

I have a desktop on w7. I have a Sound Blaster Extreme audio X-Fi card. I have my logitech 2.1 speakers plugged into this sound card. I have the mic in from my headset also plugged into the sound card. However the audio in plug on my headset needs to be plugged into the same spot my speakers are plugged in for me to get the voice chat from ventrillo to go through my headset.

Is there a way to get the voicechat to come through my headset and all other audio to go through my speakers with my setup?

try this;
plug in your headset into your onboard audio and set it as the default communication device in audio options?

in case anyone is interested;
I hopped on my desktop and tested it out and my method above works with mumble and skype.
I do not have or use vent so I can't guarantee it'll work with ventrillo.

headset through a usb dac such as this one. (mine is made by creative)
then speakers plugged into the audio ports on back of motherboard.
got voice chat through headset, music still playing through speakers.

Nice I will try that. I have never used onboard audio drivers before. I think they are disabled as a matter of fact but I will try it out when I get home!
