Thumbdrive and xbox 360

Can I play movies from a thumbdrive through my xbox?
I know you can't save anything from xbox's to thumbdrives but can they play movies or music via usb HDD?

WMV, Divx, Xvid, and a few other formats work. Not sure about divx/xvid though. And no, there isn't any special browser or hack for the 360 at this time

I use mine for music while I play games and it reads mp3 for sure, haven't tried movies yet. I heard that divx and xvid may not work unless you have an update for it.

It depends on the sound and video file that make up the xvid and divx files, if you don't have NXE it will only play certain AVI files and most WMV files.
