Got the creative labs Inspire 7.1 surround sound speakers. Was just wondering if it matters where you put the speakers because they were not marked as to which speaker they were.
(The mount holes are on the length dimension...and creative logo is in bottom left corner).
- The two blue speakers are the front left and right (doesn't matter which one is left or right).
(You can tell these blue speakers apart from all other speakers because they are taller in height, and you can see a tweeter cone above the bottom cone).
- The four green speakers are the surround speakers. Two are left and right side-surround and the other two are left and right rear-surround. Doesn't matter which ones are left, right, side or rear surround.
(You can tell these speakers apart from all other speakers because they are all shorter in height, and do not have a tweeter cone above the bottom cone)
- Pink is the sub (obviously). It's best to place this near a wall, or a corner of a room against the wall as it enhances the bass. Don't block the side sub speaker, or port hole though.
If you're required to manually wire your speakers:
...make sure that you match the correct colour wire to the corresponding coloured clips. Otherwise, you're speakers will be out of phase from one another, and some frequencies will be cancelled out between speakers making the audio sound unbalanced and lacking quality.
