Some Virus Denying Me Access to...

There is some virus on this computer (my uncles) that is denying me access to windows update. I don't know if it was porn and what not, but it's a pain in the butt because every few minutes some random pop-up trying to sell stuff comes up. My uncle said once he was sitting there and like 100 of the same window popped up and obstructed his view and he had to force restart. Avast keeps telling me there is a virus and I move it to the chest, yet I still get popups. Oh and I used adaware to removes some stuff too, with the same result.

It's blocking the windows update internet page as well. It's a sly little virus haha.

This should be in the virus section, NOT the windows section.

I would run an Avast! scan at startup, and also install SpyBot S&D and run that scan as well (after updates).

If you are still getting the errors I would personally backup the data and reinstall. If this system absoluetly cannot be reformatted then follow Osiris's Spyware Removal guide (again found in the virus section).
