Slow internet

I did a speedtest today and got this

But when i download something i only get like 80-120 kb/s.


Anyone know why?

You download at 80-120kb as in byte, or kb as in bit?

KB = killabyte
kb = killabit

There are eight bits in one byte. Therefore, 1000/8=125KB/s (killabyte per second). So, if you are getting 80-120KB/s (killabyte per second), it is already at your max.

yeah, internet companies put their speeds in Bits, as everything should be but microsoft made the byte super popular =/

anyways, as the previous post said, 8 bits to a byte (8 Kb:1 KB)

That's perfectly fine for your speed. Divide your kbps by 8 and it gives you a good estimate of what you should be downloading at.
