My sister was telling me about her friend that has a xbox 360 which did the 3 red lights about 6 months back. So the girls parents bought her another one (go figure) and that one sits in the closet.

So I figure I can tell them it is totally broken and get it for ~$50, now do I need any proof of purchase to go through microsofts RMA service? Or do I just hit up the website, print out a postal code and slap that on then mail it?

I think all you need is the S/N, im sure they wont nitice 1, while fixing the other 4 million broken ones.
