PS3 Slim Blu-Ray Drive Repair?

Hey there, not sure if this is the right spot or I need to goto the hardware section.

I have a PS3 Slim cech-30001a
Dropped it and now it doesn't play CDs anymore, it just keep spinning.
I don't mind buying the part and fixing it myself, problem is, I'm not sure what part to get.
I need to first find out what model to get and
2nd, do I need the lens laser or the deck

i would greatly appreciate the help

Let me do some looking through my favorites and such.

I replaced my PS3 laser a while back (I believe the same model as yours), and I have pics of it all too. Not sure if I added everything to my favorites or not, but I can at least get you the model of laser I got I think.

Edit: Guess mine is a CECH-2001A :\. I'll do some looking.

As for the laser... it looks like the 3001A takes either the 450A, 460A, or 470A. You'll need to open up your PS3 and look at the laser.

After replacing the laser, you may also have to perform options 3 and 4 in Safe Mode:

hey thanks for the reply,
i just realized that I have been searching for the wrong model no. this whole time
it's actually Cech-3001a ( I had added an extra 0) I found the part and will be ordering it right away.
I actually opened this thing up 4 times looking for a part no. and had no luck but I think I'm good hear.
I will update back once it's completed
