Build A Budget PC: $250, $500, Or $750 - Computer Shopper

Assembling your own PC can be a snap (and a few screws). Here's how to shop for the parts and build three inexpensive systems, step by step.

Just read the parts lists. I like the $750 one.
Hec 600w
Elitegroup mobo
Q8200

The $500 one
Again Elite group mobo
Cooler Master psu
Apollo video card (never even heard of them)
A windsor X2!
and Value ram

The $250 actually uses some higher quality components than the $500 one! Like an Asus mobo and a newer, lower power Athlon X2.

The Hec psu and the elite group mobo alone make the $750 one a fire hazard. They went on to get the PC8500 gold's instead of the pc8800 model, a reference 4850, and a raidmax case.

I think almost everyone who has been here for more than a week can put together a better build for that budget.

Heck why not? If you think you can do better (which I hope you can) then post your $750 budget. Needs to include case and OS. Extra credit for cramming in a gaming KB and mouse.

They should hire one of us to do it (well the ones who know what they are talking about anyways)..

Then they have an accurate good build
