Possible to use 1 KB and mouse for 2 PCs?

My g/f and I have seperate computers and while I'm on college break we'll be sharing a monitor. Her monitor has dual output, so no probs there - just need another VGA cable. I'm wondering if there are any splitters or switches that I can buy that will let our computers share a keyboard and mouse? A switch would probably be necessary for this kind of application, so both computers could be separated from receiving input. Both KB and mouse are USB. Looking for any suggestions or "tricks" to allow this.

I'm an advanced computer user, but I've never come across any switches or splitters for a situation like this.

You'll want to get KVMs. They're switches for multiple keyboards and mouses to share with one or two computers. Heres a link to look at:
