port 1028

Hello,
(Not sure if this is the right section for this question, sorry if I misplaced this)

I'm just curious about this port that is labeled "depreciated" why is it the only one I can see that is marked like this? only info I see on the web is that it was depreciated in 2004, I'm newer to this sort of stuff so its just pure curiosity. Port: 1028

A lot of older trojans used that port... A lot of networks now block the port and I assume the reason IANA depreciated it is because of the malicious uses for it. I think Windows Messenger (the service originally built into XP) used UDP on 1028, and a LOT of infections/spam spread via that...

You would be amazed by the number of ports that should be blocked as they tend to be open ears for a machine with out a proper firewall.
