Players play at double speed

Hi.

Sometimes videoplayers start playing files at aprox. double speed. Sound blurs and video cannot be watched normally. This happens most often when continue playing after pause or winding or rewinding. I've experienced this with Winamp, Realplayer, Windows Mediaplayer and some enhaced CDs which I believe use Quicktime. Does anyone know what might cause this?

On Windows Media Player, click on View -> Enhancement -> Play Speed Settings.

Turn it down to Normal.
