I started a new class this session and it involves creating an game engine from scratch. This is a great learning experience and look forward to learning and brushing up on my programmign skills... unfortunately the group I am with has decided to go with a language I have no previous experience or knowledge on: Java. I also have 1-2 weeks to get familiar as the engine needs to be done 8 weeks from now.
Now, there was a thread earlier discussing C# and Java which touched on them being the same yet different and I am knowledgable with C#. But is there a reputable site that you guys may know that can get me up to speed to built-in functions or things specific to Java?
Made a quick search and found a few threads asking similar advice but they were either older threads or a poster de-bunked them as being bogus further down the thread.
Any suggestions of sites to check out are greatly appreciated ^_^
