Microsoft Extends XP Availability For Distributors

Microsoft has extended Windows XP availability until May 30th 2009, the previous cut off date was January 31st. Netbook makers can continue to offer XP through 2001 and downgrades will be available through July 2009.

In an e-mail to ChannelWeb, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the existence of a flexible inventory program that will allow distributors to place their final orders for Windows XP OEM licenses by Jan. 31, 2009, and take delivery against those orders through May 30.

Oh not again MS needs to drop support for XP now not in 3 months time.

Sorry I meant stop selling, oh an i tend to agree with you on the drop the x32 issue.

You mean x86? 32-bit is x86 architecture..... 64-bit is x64. Or perhaps they do call it x32 but not very often and I've just not seen it?
Regardless, I'm just nit-picking :D

So might actually happen this time (unlike the 3 times its been put back already) i mean a month seems a reasonable period of time right

get an new Os that people actually like then maybe they can kill it. XP is the last OS that people like so they will keep support for it.

I'll bet anybody that vista support don't last half as long as xp
