Well, found a nice updated *nix vm image so i tried it out....
Folding@Home - VMWare Player 3.0 and Folding Bigadv Support - LinuxForge.net

The *nix client runs really nice and shaves almost 4 min per % on my bigadv units..thats 6 1/2hrs btw.

Its dead simple and you can use vmplayer 3, which support 8 cores, or virtubox.

Both are free.

It'll work for smp or bigadv and really is worth it.

Loves yous xxoo

Paton,I have one question for you, currently I have 6gb of ram right now.
Since I use oracle virtual machine with suse 11.2 could that program handle well with my Phenom II 960 and 6gb's?

I am looking at the documentation and I'm going by my own facts, but I think this might hanlde well for me if I had 8gbs.
If Had my hexa-core I could isolate the 4 cores to it and the rest would belong to windows 7.
But thats just me thinking, what do you think is best needed for most quad core systems ?

For regular smp's it be fine.. I too only have 6 gigs of ram, andrubn the big guys.

The vm is just a tiny *nix, running bare essentials.

All the vm stuff togethr is under 70Megs in the process explorer.

So, You can onlyy just giver and you tell us.
