iTunes Activation Servers Are Down

Well, it seems that Apple's iTunes activation servers have gone down so customers are being sent home with unactivated iPhones and being told to activate it later. So much for that whole mandatory in-store activation plan.

Apple has confirmed to us that activation is down, and that customers are being asked to take the phone home and activate via iTunes later. We're not sure what good that'll do, since the servers are down no matter where you are, but Apple says it's "working on a solution." Hop to it, guys.

This is limited to the USA as far as i know, i have heard little about the UK release so it's either been very smooth or there was not much of a demand for it.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure we have to go directly into the O2 store, the problem may have been resolved though.
