I'll preface this thread with the obvious statement and let you all know that i'm a major newbie in the tech side of computers.
While on yahoo messenger last night there was a user who got mad at a second user, and made the second user "go away". Upon doing so he said that he hadn't simply booted the second user, but instead he claimed to have "burned" the second user's PC. He went on to say that the second user will now need another PC as the one he was using is nothing more than a paperweight now.
My first question is simply: Is this possible?
Second question...If such is possible, what can be done to protect a system from such acts?
Again, sorry for the complete lack of knowledge that I have in the tech world. Hopefully I'll pick up on things fairly quickly.
Thanks
