From vista original up till now sp2, has anybody tried to compress the HDD when trying to clear up space off the windows partition ?
I tried several times over the past 2 years trying to compress the c:drive.
Everytime that I do vista gets really screwed up after compressing the hdd and restarting for the changes to take effect.
When I do this the main hdd needs a vista repair or reinstall, I called up microsoft about this last week and they admitted there was a problem with that when vista got released but they said they fixed it when sp2 got released which doesn't work out for me at all....

Has anyone else had this problem before, I know a few people on different forums has encountered this problem like I did.

With the size of HDD's now a days, why would someone want to compress their system drive? Even if you partition there should never be a need to have to compress your system drive. It doesnt gain you anything in the long run.

Even in Windows XP there are many known issues to compressing the system drive. It just doesnt make sense to do it.
