installing programs on windows vista

ive got windows vista when you could download it from there site and when i install a program it restarts vista and when its about to load the desktop a blue screen comes up saying dumping of physical memory and this happens everytime i restart my pc

What does it say when it is dumping. There should be something at the top that says IRQ Not Less or Equal or something up toward the top that can help me figure out what is wrong with your install. There should also be a Stop Error code. It looks like 0x0000007e or something close to that.

Give me that info and i can help you along.

ive scrapped vista using xp now but next time i use vista i will let you know
