ugh, I learned my lesson years ago with two 74gb raptors in raid zero - software on board controller.... lost a lot of pictures, most likely that is why I do backups like crazy now days. One recommendation is to have a spare drive that you clone your array over to so you have a fallback point if you ever had to rebuild.

you may have disturbed a cable. try re-seating the cables before trying to mess with the controller itself

Sounds like a coincidence to me. And unfortunately with raid 0 it's gonna be very unlikely that you'll recover your data.
I always like the quote "They call it RAID 0 because when it fails..that's how much data you'll be able to recover."
