I keep getting this message, "Internet explorer has encountered a problom....."

The message is, "internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

i'm always getting this message and it closes down my explorer screen. How do i stop this?

Have you tried un-installing IE, and re-installing it? What version are you currently using? What operating system are you running also?

I'm running the version of explorer that comes with Windows XP. Should i try downloading a newer version of explorer?

Definitely.

If that's all you're using, you need to go to the Windows update site and download all your updates as well. Click the Custom button to see all the updates for your computer.

You'll have to decide if you want to go with IE7 or not. If you don't want it, you will have to de-select it.
