i just got my new computer throught and i have no protection on it

i tryed to install and actervate norton 2009 but the stupid thing wont let me!!!!

so now my pc is open to threats :[

does anyone know any kind of protection that is free and will remove virus if detected??

uhm not sure im downloading avg and it is going really slow

its normaly 200 or 300 and my keybord is set out wrong grrrrr

how do i change it back? lol when i try and hit the @ button on the keybord it comes up as a " i forgot how to change it
