Help-can't connect to the internet.

Overnight, all of a sudden my computer can not connect to the internet. I have a compaq notebook running XP. If I plug in my wireless card it works fine, but not plugging it into the wall. I am not even told that a "Network connection has been lost." I've tried creating a new network connection but it said that the internet should be working. I am on a college campus and am finishing up a virus scan right now with no results... Does anyone know what I can check? Thanks.

Go to ipconfig and see if you've got a Default Gateway.
Then, post back if you do/don't. I had that problem, but on wireless, and I COULD connect with the wire.

If you're wondering why this happens, it's because the wireless is coming from a single source, and your wire hookup is from a router, which could be faulty.

Yes, I have a default gateway...
