Google Maps Offline Viewer
We have reviewed several applications like Google Map Buddy, Offline Maps or Google Map Saver in the past that allowed the user to download Google Maps so that the maps can be viewed offline. GmapCatcher is another offline maps viewer that supports not only Google Maps but also Cloud Made and Open Street Map.
The basic interface makes it easy to display a specific map in the application which can then be downloaded. It is possible to either use the initial map to zoom to the location in the world map or to enter a location in the form at the top. The program will automatically zoom to that location then. Users need to make sure to uncheck the offline checkbox first so that new map tiles can be downloaded from the Internet.
