Here is my promblem, I have had my 120gb external hard drive for quite some time now (maybe 6 months), it's an IDE to USB case in which you can put laptop HDDs, and mine is a 120gb toshiba in a Vaio case.
It has always been working fine, but yesterday I brought it to a friends place and when I plugged it in the power LED lit up, but the HDD did not start to spin, and the computer obviously did not recognise it. The case is not the problem as I was able to load different HDDs from it.
Can anybody tell me what happened? Did this happen because I unplug my USB components without safely removing them? (I doubt it though...). And transportation is not an issue, I handled it wit care
