erm... badly need help on soundcard/speaker

erm.. i have this problem ..
first when i on my pc the songs i listening to is perfectly all right..
after haf hour or 1 hour, begin to have scratching sound , quite sore .. then wht is the problem? i went to the shop and check it out but play the song for 45mins nothing happen..
i check the device mangaer , the sound card is working propely..
* if the sound card is spoil.. will there be sound? i suppose no right.
*my sound card is REALTEK AC97 .. so is it i need to upgrade my driver .. where can i download the driver..
*the techician said to me that , sound card is ok.. if realli got problem.. add a live card..
really in a mess now... anyone can help me????? thanks.

do you happen to have a wave device for voice modem installed?
if you have it pegged down to messing up when you are online, you are probably getting noise from the modem... (*upgrade that driver too*) - reinstall the card, movem apart... mute the wave device. . .

if the sound gets scratchy after time, then you probably have a heat problem...

Your modem is probably putting sound on the soundcard, and what you hear is the noise from the phone line.

Just add a fan to cool if it's a heat problem.
