just got a new computer about 3 months ago... never tried playing a DVD on it before... tried tonight and got a really choppy playback... both audio and video playback were choppy... dont know why cause everything i got was close to top of the line...

DVD RW - Asus 1608P
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT

i checked for driver updates for both of these and there arent any... i could be missing a codec, but i have no idea which one... i have DivX and XVid...

anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

thanks in advance

:)

Hi,

What are your computer specs? It might have to do with that...

Also, what program are you using to play the DVD? Try downloading something like Power DVD and try playing it on it...see if anything changes...

Specs

Amd 64 Processor. 3700+ San Diego Chipset
1 GB RAM
Asus Premium A8N-SLI

and i am trying to use WMP 10 to playback the Dvd

do you have to pay for that?

and doesn't k-lite mega codec pack have a dvd decoder?

if you have a product like nvtv (capture card). then you already have a serial for it as that serial of it's decoder works too. I use to have a hard dvd decoder card, because software dvd sucks compared to hardward (hardward looks like hdtv and they can produce hdtv signal). the pure video decoder made me take it out and sell it.

try the trial. if you have an ati card use vivo

you can buy a dvd decoder card too. they cost 300 bucks, but sells for 10-20 bucks on ebay
