Computer gone slooow...

My current installation of windows xp home edition has been installed on my PC since february and it has gotten real slow lately, I game on this system but the thing is I don't really want to format as I'm lazy and can't really be bothered to re-install everything etc..my hard disk is only 160gb and I've got 39gbs left. I've defraged, run ccleaner and scanned for viruses. What else can I do to speed it up?

Thanks, really helped. I used the spyware search and destroy app and it's done literally wonders
