I recently purchased a VideoMate TVPVR/FM (M200) for my system so I could watch TV listen to radio etc in my study.

I also wanted to transfer all my old VHS movies onto DVD (or similar) which this pci card supports.

I am able to copy from the TV to my hard drive without a problem however when it comes to the VHS videos it starts then the screen turns white (audio is fine).

The manufacturers are stating that the VHS machine that I am using is outputting macrovision soa s to block the copying, but I insist that tis isn't possible as

1. Tapes being used are from TV years ago or
2. Home movies.

They suggested using a different VHS machine but alas same problem.

I told them this and there relpy is
"Please install the follows
http://www.comprousa.com/downloadfiles/ComproPVR2076.exe
http://www.comprousa.com/downloadfiles/VMTV_Driver2332.zip

Please install the video card, sound card and motherboard driver from
vendors.
Do not use the default drivers from Windows operation system.
The drivers are usually too old to operate correctly.

If the problem persist, the only suggestion we can make is try another
device like VCD/DVD player, different video tape, or connecting video game
console. This problem is not produced by the hardware. It is definally cause
by the macrovision protection code. Therefore, we cannot help you to remove this protection."

How many VHS machines do they think I have.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Cheers

Paul
