Hey all,

Working on a new build and I decided to download clonezilla so i can create an image of my drive with a clean install on it. Chrome keeps blocking the download saying it's malicious. I moved over to a "dirty" computer and bypassed the protection then scanned the file with Avast and it came up clean. Any idea what's going on? Is this just Chrome being over protective?

Are you getting the downloads from here?
Clonezilla - Downloads

Did you check the MD5 checksum of you download to make sure it matches what they have on their site?

Yes that's the link i used. I ended up deciding to go with UBCD because i wanted to build a more robust tool anyway but now i have another problem. I downloaded the UBCD from a mirror site linked from their main page. It shows that it is version 5.3.2 which is one version behind the current release. I used HashCalc to compare the checksum to whats posted on the version history page on UBCD's site. But the md5sum doesn't match what's listed. Am i doing something wrong? or is it more likely i have a bad file?

md5sum from UBCD page

Is that the listed hash for the 5.3.2 version or for the newest version?

It's the listed hash for the 5.3.2 version. I'm thinking its the wrong ISO now though. I burned it to a disk and some of the basic tools worked but clonezilla said it was the wrong architecture so i'm thinking i got the wrong ISO.

I downloaded both the 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 versions and got these for the MD5's when I ran them using my checksum utility that I made (found here: http://www.techist.com/forums/f9/checksum-verifier-generator-utility-269473/)

5.3.2: a210a056911e252f5f3d2404bd931afb
5.3.3: b087ec8dda25c238d325fcd586fe718b

Downloaded both using the P2P magnet links rather than the HTTP mirrors.

Awesome thanks for the follow through. I'll download them again using the P2P next time. I still have a lot of little projects i'm working on to build a good tool kit. Thanks again.
