Mac, Linux, and Windows can utilize Samba. For Windows, I've used SyncBack Free Edition. I liked it because it had a scheduler option.
Do you know what OS is running on the NAS? I personally use rsync over SSH (command line script) to back up my data, but that's going Linux client to Linux NAS. Rsync and SSH work on Mac (something that Windows falls short of) which is why I bring it up in case your NAS happens to be Linux based. I'm not sure of what GUI utilities exist for Mac as I use it that infrequently anymore. I do understand that Time Machine works over Samba... is Time Machine something you're not aiming to use?
