-Make sure you have the latest updated drivers from the EVGA website.
-Make sure your games are patched to the latest version.

You should beable to play those games on max

Also
Open the Nvidia control panel.
Click 3D settings.
Ajust image settings with preview.
Make sure it's either "Let the 3d allpication decide or "use my preference emphasizing quality" if that dosent work.

how do i get patches for Far Cry?

hey phantom, I just got HL2 and I see what your talking about. How do I change it to dxlevel 81 like it said in one of your links.

Open Steam
Go to the My games tab, Rightclick on Half-life 2
Click Properties, Under the General Tab click set launch options and enter one of the following. (without the quotes)
" -dxlevel 70" for DirectX 7.0
" -dxlevel 80" for DirectX 8.0
" -dxlevel 81" for DirectX 8.1
" -dxlevel 90" for DirectX 9.0

I finally found out how to fix the black stuff in Farcry. All I had to do was lower the shadow option. Everything else works with very high

and yea.. i think -direct 81 worked thanks

You need to patch the game. I was having the same problems with my 6800 Ultra until I patched. The graphics looked like crap until I patched.
