A co worker brought their home computer to me saying there were popups on the screen that they could not get out of and the system could not get online. They were very general in descriptions, so I didn't have much to go on.
I never saw any popups when I booted, but I did see that the IP settings had been jacked with (set to static settings instead of DHCP where it was to begin with)
I ran the installed antivirus (MS Security Essentials) as well as AdAware (already installed) and both programs found and removed some items. Since then the system seems to be working as it should, but I would like the HJT log looked at to see if there's anything still lurking.
