Adobe Indesign Compatibility

Hi im started school this week and i will be working for the school newspaper and am going to purchase a macbook. The newspaper class uses Adobe Indesign on all windows computers. My question is if i have a mac and want to use it for the newspaper work will there be compatibility issues? or will the mac version read and write in the same format as the windows version.

(if there is compatibility issues i will just get indesign for windows because i plan to bootcamp vista)
