First thing I would suspect is possible overheating. Stuff like pic viewing and video don't really stress a gpu out that bad, where as the 3D rendering is causing it to work up more. I have seen this...

The one thing instantly i would say is Different is Starbucks is probably using a high output router. The Bridge I linked picks up a wireless G signal at about 50yrds going though an entire house...

GPU-Z is a no go... the mobo has no thermal sensors on the gpu. But so far adding a new gfx card seems to be doin the trick, 1:30hr up-time no crash. Stress test for 45min the cpu never raised above...

The only time it shuts off is in Windows Normal load. Just got done with 2:30hr Stress test set at 97% system usage and nothing, everything passed fine.
I do not notice a change in cpu fan speed....
