Re: Random reboots without BSOD

I'm starting to operate under the suspicion that this might have all been caused by the space heater in my office... it's in the basement, which gets pretty chilly during the winter. I think these...

Silverstone ST1500 1500W

I just reread the manual for the first time in years... my memory is a bit off. What it said was to not plug it into an extension cord, so I somehow extrapolated that...

So I was still getting a lot of random reboots during normal operation, and once while the system was starting up the BIOS.

I cleaned all the dust out of the case, and checked to make sure all of...

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

And of course, five minutes after I post this, it reboots again.

I'm going to roll back to the previous driver and see if that fixes it.

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

I ran the memory test overnight, and no errors.

I spent a day on the computer without using Corel Painter, and there were no crashes, so my gut feeling was that it had something to do with this,...

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

Won't a clean install need a product key? I don't think the one I have from Windows 8 would work, would it?

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

I don't have Windows 10 media, as I did the upgrade online... is there a way to do a clean install without it?

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

I checked for new drivers on the Asus website, and there weren't any. I also ran the Intel Driver Update Utility, and it didn't come up with any that needed replacing.

I will check the component...

Re: Random reboots without BSOD

I'm not really sure, to be honest. I say this because I definitely know that it has rebooted a few times while using Corel Painter, because that resulted in me screaming, but it also rebooted once...

Random reboots without BSOD

I've been getting some random reboots over the last few days. Unfortunately, I'm not getting a BSOD to help me figure out what is going on. I recently changed to Windows 10, and just assumed that I...

Re: How can I tell if a power supply is causing shutdowns?

Under the chipset downloads on the motherboard's website, it has Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V9.3.2.1015 and Intel Management Engine Interface V9.5.15.1730. Should I install both?...

Re: How can I tell if a power supply is causing shutdowns?

I will check the power saving features once I'm finished on this print run. While that finishes, are there any particular things I should do about those two errors?

To the best of my knowledge,...

Re: How can I tell if a power supply is causing shutdowns?

I got a BSOD today with a Driver_Power_State_Failure, for which I've attached the dump file. I'm not sure if this is related to the PC completely shutting down or not... there are no dump files for...

How can I tell if a power supply is causing shutdowns?

My computer has been getting a lot of random shutdowns recently. Often, it won't even BSOD, but will just flat out shut down like a lamp would when the power goes off. There are also some spontaneous...

Here they are. The ones dated 11/6 and 11/16 are from 8.1, and 11/17 is from after I reverted to 8.

Re: Clock_Watchdog_Timeout

I'm now getting another BSOD that I got once in the last week before I reverted to Windows 8: Machine_Check_Exception. I just got two of these in a row. I've attached the dump file.

Re: Clock_Watchdog_Timeout

Yes, that's my rig.

Nothing under Minidump... I just reverted from 8.1 back to 8, hoping that might solve the issue. There has been one BSOD, but it froze and wasn't able to go further than 0% in...

Clock_Watchdog_Timeout

I've recently been having a problem with BSODs, and, sometimes, the computer just locking up and freezing with no BSOD. The BSODs give me the error Clock_Watchdog_Timeout.

My understanding is...

Re: GPU Memory Overclocking Question

I know Furmark has a bad reputation, but I've used it safely in the past... I'm very slow at overclocking, and I don't push things farther than they should go. This is my first time using OCCT and...
