Thanks for the head ups. One time I got a virus (not sure how) on Windows 7 and Malware Bytes cleaned it out. But a friend of mine said Malware Bytes never found any viruses for him but ComboFix always works. It really just depends on where the virus is hiding (I guess?)
Is your networking setup with a router? If so go to your routers internal IP to configure it. Sometimes your router can block it from being seen on your network.
Yes I would definitely recommend letting Windows work out the bugs before installing that OS. It seems that when Windows introduces a new OS, it sucks. But when the subsequent OS is released, it seems to be a lot better. For example Windows Vista followed by Windows 7
