Asus A7V8X-X motherboard for use with socket A CPUs such as Athlons, Athlon XPs, Durons and Semprons up to 3000+.
ive got a casecom 500w PSU (i did have a 250w but it didnt have enough juice) and im trying to use an AMD athlon xp 2.8ghz CPU in it
whats the cmos and how do i reset it. is that the thing where you take the motherboard battery out and do you think that could be my problem as i was getting ready to throw that board out.:(
i bought it off ebay and the bloke said it was tested by asus before he sold it and he says its been three weeks since i purchased it so theres no way he can give me a refund, t0$$er
have you got cooling paste under you heatsink. i didnt and it was at 48 degrees, got some paste and now its at 34. i wouldnt 'tear' a hole in your case, just leave the whole side off, unless you know what your doing.
also and exhaust fan maybe an idea (goes on a pci slot) but dont buy a cheap...

right my problem is, i bought a new motherboard (asus a7v8x-x) evenualy got it running (had to but all new parts) and now it doesnt work, well not anymore.
once i got it running i formatted it and installed xp home edition, after that it was working perfectly for about 18...
is the cd cable (i think it the cd cable) plugged in the right way. i had the same problem and found out that the cd data cable thing was plugged in the motherboard the wrong way round. its either the cd/hdd or floppy cable, im new and dont know much :) but that was my problem
