A friend of mine just got a new computer, and is having a problem where his computer loses power and of course shuts off at random intervals. Of course, I first blame it on the power supply, but it's brand new and he says it's 1000 watts. I'm not going to pretend to know if that's good or not...

I really don't have the money for a new video card, but I very much doubt it's the PSU's output. (This computer is hardly state of the art.) Well, I'll see what I can do... WELL! It works! I changed to a more powerful power supply, and it's back up on it's feet. Thanks, guys.

The power supply is obviously doing it's thing, but the moniter, when hooked up, doesn't work, and the soft power LED flashes instead of staying solid. The computer is on, but not responding.

C'mon, people...I'm going to lose my house over this. Okay? I NEED an answer. If this is just a case of a faulty power supply, and both of those power supplies were faulty, That's fine. Just...C'mon.

I have a problem with my desktop. Whenever plugged in, and the hard power on, it emits this really annoying and painful high pitched noise, and the computer does nothing. The sound seems to be originating from the power supply, but I changed it out for a power supply of another computer. Still...

I'm running a laptop with a Dual boot Vista and XP. Now, I've had an odd problem a few times with the XP partition. Every now and then, the laptop will randomly shut off. No warning at all. It's just off. And at that point, pushing the power button is non-responsive unless I unplug the power...
