All drives are the same, imo, some are good, some go bad.I don't believe however the drive itseslf is bad, something else is up that I don't know about, like RMA, what is that m8 ? This is my first experience dealing with externals. Zip

I have a fairly new (3 months) External hd, a Bytecc Product .It's running your basic 7200 250 gb Maxtor ide hd. It has a green light on the lower right front of the enclosure, that typically flashes green/red when active.Currently, it is flashing intermittently green/red, and doesn't appear...

Make sure you have forwarded ports to the appropriate programs for each machine, also, I like to force the TCP/IP to use a fixed internal ip by going into the networks connections properties. Just open a command prompt, type ipconfig /all , and copy the info you see there into your TCP/IP...

do you have another machine you can try and stick the non-working hd's in, and if so, full-format them there and see what happens. Zip

If you have multiple hard drives, try unplugging the spare/storage drives leaving only the os drive connected. Zip
